Revised Band Poster #2

The suggestions that I got for this poster is that the blood, the brain, the background, and the straw needed to be saturated to a lighter color so it is not so dark from the original. Some other suggestions was to move the blood down to look like it is stretched which I have tried and did not like. Another one is to move the title down a little bit and the shadows of the letters across a little bit more.

Final Band Poster

I did a lot of the suggestions from the previous poster. I changed the color of his jacket to bring out the design in it from the background. I like how it turned out with changing my mind so many times.

Suggestions for Band Poster

The suggestions I got for my band poster was to change the color of the background to a lighter color and saturate the design a little bit. Second suggestion was to change the typeface of the place and time words to a more traditional typeface. Third suggestion was to move the hand back and put more wrinkles in the face of the zombie. Finally, last suggestion was to rearrange the title and maybe add some blood dripping down the zombie word.

Corrections of the Posters and Finals

The suggestions on this poster from classmates were the movement of the phrase from the head of the girl. I also had to adjust some of the colors from the original because of the printer inks.

The suggestions for this poster was some of the coloration on the man and the background color. I had to adjust the colors for this a little bit, but I am still concern about the phrase.

Posters for the Glasnost and Cigarette Posters

The Glasnost Poster is probably not the right one, but the cigarette posters are the right ones plus one that is more recent.

Q&A to the Combination of Objects to make a Poster

Why might the artist have used the particular setting?
To give it a show of depth with the different colors of blue and the scale between the people and the cave. It would give the viewer the feel of what the cave would actually look like in real life.
figure/ground relationships?
The figure and ground relationship is by the scale from the people to the inside of the cave. The artist keeps the same layout throughout the poster.
figure/figure relationships?
The relationship from figure to figure is about the same as above, but the figures are more simplified than the cave which is more detailed by layering shadows.
What is the artists saying with the composition?
The artist is using the cave as most of the composition with part of the cave in front of the poster and far away with different colors back to back to show the depth and scale.
What is the artists saying with light?
The artist is showing light by having a focal point to the right where the light is shining through and beaming on the cave and the people just a little to give depth.
How might you evoke similarly without any text?
By creating flat objects with depth and combining it all together to make one flowing composition.
How might you change the mood without any text in a manner that stays true to the original artwork?
By analyzing the objects I have made and decide how to make them true to the original poster, but make them my own with a mood with the character I have picked and making the other objects come together as one piece.

Patriotism- the product sells that it is American made and if you are American than you should buy it.

Simple Solutions- explaining a little about the product but getting to the point about the problem and how to solve it by buying this product with a concrete floor and foundation.

Wit and Humor-using women as the main focus, but the oil for machines that the men use in the war. Clashing fuel for the machines and fuel for men that the women should be doing at home.

Anwers to B and C part of the WPA posters

Part B: From the pictures I have seen related to the posters of the WPA, each artist have an unique style. The first poster has a abstract style which gives the artist an idea of putting different objects together to make the poster. The second poster has just a straightforward style where the artist could have used an image he/she taken a picture of and used the color palette of choice to make the image to introduce in a poster. In the last poster, the artist put together a few images to represent WWI and chose a primary color palette.

Part C: In each poster, the artist is trying to influence the viewer in a way that either represents them from past events or hobbies they like to do. In the first poster, the artist is asking the viewer to come join it if the viewer likes to paint or make pottery or both. It is convincing me to do it by the way the poster is laid out and I like doing both of these hobbies. In the second poster, the artist is asking the viewer if they like to explore the caves and be adventurous then come see these caves. It is convincing to me because the artist made the right choice of colors for the inside of the cave which makes me feel the coldness of the cave and how it might look like inside the cave if I went there. In the last poster, the artist is asking the viewer to come help with a problem if not already in it. Join in to help America. It is convincing to me because of the choice of the primary colors and how it is laid out to convince Americans to help their country.

Posters from WPA

In the first poster, the color palette relates to it because of the earth colors to ceramics and painting. The colors give it a simple eye-catcher to the viewer and gives people who can relate to the ceramics and painting as an artist. The second poster, the color palette relates to it because of the cool colors of blue which represents the feel of coldness in a cave and how dark it usually is in caves too. It works well. The last poster relates to the poster by the bright saturated colors of  blues, yellows, and reds. It catches the viewer's eyes because of the bright colors. The color palette works well with the relation to the subject of the poster too with WWI. The colors represent the American value to other Americans. Primary colors most of the time work well with posters and to get the attention to the audience.
